Congress slams Assam CM over remarks on Kharge, calls it ‘insult to Dalit community’

Patna, Apr 9 (UNI) The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee today strongly condemned remarks made by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma against Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, terming them an “insult to the entire Dalit community.”
Addressing a press conference at Sadaqat Ashram in Patna, state Congress president Rajesh Ram said that Kharge is a senior and respected Dalit leader, and any derogatory comment against him amounts to hurting the sentiments of millions of people across the country.
Ram alleged that the BJP and the RSS reflect a mindset that disrespects Dalits and asserted that the Congress would continue to oppose such attitudes. He said communities that were historically marginalised are now asserting their rightful place in society, which is making the ruling dispensation uncomfortable.
