BJP MLAs walk out of Bengal assembly over Murshidabad violence

Kolkata, June 12 (UNI) BJP MLAs staged a walkout from the West Bengal Assembly on Thursday after Speaker Biman Banerjee rejected two adjournment motions they had moved on incidents of violence in Murshidabad and Maheshtala in South 24 Parganas district.
Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari submitted a motion on the violence in Murshidabad, while fellow BJP MLA Puna Bhengra moved a separate motion on the clashes that erupted in Maheshtala on Wednesday.
However, the Speaker turned down both motions, citing that the Murshidabad case was sub judice and that the Maheshtala issue was not appropriate for a discussion in the House at the time.
