Ruckus in Odisha Assembly, House adjourned till 1600 hours

Bhubaneswar, Aug 29 (UNI) Opposition BJD members on Thursday created a ruckus in the Odisha Assembly, demanding that their notice for an adjournment motion on developmental works in the state's blocks be taken up for debate.
Speaker Surama Padhi was forced to adjourn the House until 1600 hrs after agitated BJD members rushed to the well of the House, shouted slogans, and disrupted business during Zero Hour in protest against the Speaker's refusal to accept their adjournment notice.
The issue was raised by BJD members Arun Sahu and Ganeswar Behera, who stated that although they had been demanding a discussion on the matter for a long time, the Speaker, they alleged, had been rejecting it.

Shillong, April 21 (UNI) The Meghalaya government has appointed outgoing chief engineer of State Public Works Department (Roads), Dawhoi Langstang, as the new chairman of Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC).
Bedarius Shylla, who was serving as in-charge chairman of the MPSC, has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.

African Swine fever toll in Mizoram crosses 2,600 as virus grips four districts

Aizawl, Apr 21 (UNI) The resurgence of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Mizoram continues to take a heavy toll, with 136 pig deaths reported across four districts on Monday alone, pushing the total death count this year to 2,663, officials from the state Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department confirmed.
