Mizoram Assembly clears Rs 3,512.33 Cr supplementary grants, defers liquor bill

Aizawl, Mar 5 (UNI) The Mizoram Legislative Assembly on Wednesday unanimously passed supplementary demands for grants amounting to Rs 3,512.33 crore for the fiscal year 2024-25.
Chief Minister Lalduhoma, who also holds the Finance portfolio, presented the demands on Tuesday.
Explaining the additional expenditure, Lalduhoma cited increased receipts under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI), which exceeded allocations by Rs 130 crore, as well as higher-than-expected funds released under Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS).
