Bihar will become water deficient state by the year 2050 if remedial measures not taken : Minister

Patna, Mar 11(UNI) Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary on Tuesday said in assembly that Bihar, once a water surplus state, would become a water deficient state by the year 2050 , if remedial measures were not taken.
Chaudhary while replying to debate on budgetary demand of his department for the financial year 2025-26 in House, said that Bihar was once a water surplus state having per capita water availability of five thousands cubic meters.
Due to excessive exploitation of water resources, per capita water availability got reduced to one thousand cubic meters, which was a matter of serious concern as this prevailing situation was called water stressed condition, he added.

ASI to suspends the repair work of Sri Jagannath Temple’s Ratna Bhandars

Puri, Apr 26 (UNI) The ongoing repair and conservation work of both the Ratna Bhandaras(Temple Treasury ) of the Sri Jagannath temple would be suspended from April 27 to June 27 to observe several rituals of the presiding deities of the temple
The temple sources said the 21 day long Chandan Yatra would begin on April 29 and Akshyay Tritiya on April 30 then another twenty-one day Bhitar Chandan yatra would be observed .Sri Jagannath Temple Chief Administrator d Arvind Padhee told the media on Saturday.
