After appreciation from PM Modi, Sweety exhorts more women to choose Mithila painting as profession

Madhubani, Sep 28 (UNI) After getting appreciation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his 126th episode of 'Maan ki Baat' today, for her excellent work in Mithila painting, Sweety Kumari, a native of Madhubani district in Bihar, said she would continue to devote herself for Mithila painting and encourage more women to choose it as their professional career.
Sweety Kumari, shot into national fame after PM Modi profusely appreciated her for excellent work in Mithila painting and associating more than five hundred women to adopt this art as their profession .With her initiative "Sankalp Creations", Sweety transformed traditional Mithila painting into profession that helped women in earning their livelihood, PM had said in his " Mann ki Baat ", and added it was display of her will power that shaped bright future for a large number of women in rural areas.
Sweety, a twenty three year old girl of Lohna village in Jhanjharpur block of Madhubani district, told UNI that she was feeling greatly motivated and inspired after appreciation from PM Modi. It would further reinforce her commitment and dedication to art of traditionally rich Mithila painting, she added. "I was impressed with some women getting Padmashree award for their excellent work in Mithila painting. Jagdamba Devi, Ganga Devi, Sita Devi, Baua Devi, Mahasuri Devi, Dulari Devi, Godawari Devi are among them who have been felicitated with Padmashree award for their contribution in Mithila painting ", Sweety said adding that these women were source of inspiration and prompted her to devote time and energy for Mithila painting.
