Tripura BJP holds protests at Bangladesh border against vandalism in Tagore house

Agartala, June 14 (UNI) Tripura Pradesh BJP on Saturday staged state-wide protests near the Bangladesh border, condemning the recent attack and vandalism of the ancestral home of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore in the neighbouring country.
Leading a protest rally in Agartala and near the Akhaura Integrated Check Post, BJP General Secretary and MLA Bhagaban Das said, “A barbaric incident in Bangladesh has shocked not only Tripura but the entire nation.”
The ancestral home of Tagore has been vandalised. Fascist and fundamentalist elements have targeted the residence of Tagore, who is a revered figure for Bengalis in India and the people of undivided India, he alleged.
