Manipur launches awareness campaign on PM-NAPS for NE region

Imphal, Nov 6 (UNI) The Government of Manipur on Thursday announced the launch of an Awareness Campaign on the Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS) for the North East Region, aimed at expanding apprenticeship opportunities and strengthening linkages between education, training, and industry.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Directorate of Craftsmen Training under the Department of Skill, Labour, Employment and Entrepreneurship (SLEE), seeks to encourage both private and public establishments to engage apprentices in accordance with the Apprentices Act, while also ensuring that eligible youth are aware of the benefits and entitlements under the scheme.
Under PM-NAPS, the Government provides financial incentives to establishments to promote apprenticeship training across sectors, with a focus on bridging the gap between academic learning and industry needs. The campaign will include outreach programmes, awareness drives, and stakeholder interactions across the North Eastern states.
