Farmers in Bihar to be linked with unique ID : Deputy CM

Patna, Jan 11 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha today said that the state government aims to link every farmer with a Unique Farmer ID to ensure direct and transparent benefits of all the central and State government schemes.
Sinha said here that the progress of farmer registration under AgriStack shows that the land records directly impact the rate of registrations. He said that registration is faster in districts covered under the Revisional Survey (RS) due to relatively clean and updated land records.
He pointed out that districts under the Cadastral Survey (CS) are facing structural challenges like inheritance issues, joint holdings and old land records. Keeping these challenges in mind, the state government is working with a special strategy. To speed up farmer registration in CS districts, additional manpower is being deployed, along with simplified facilities for correction and mutation, and special emphasis is being laid on effective conversion of existing e-KYC, he informed.
