US-India Forum delegation meets Telangana CS, explores investment opportunities

Hyderabad, Apr 7 (UNI) A high-level delegation from the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum on Tuesday met Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao at the Secretariat to discuss investment opportunities across sectors.
The delegation included representatives from companies in insurance, financial services, agriculture and technology.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary presented an overview of Telangana’s growth, stating that the state has made significant progress since its formation in 2014, with strong growth in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and per capita income driven by public and private investments.
He said Telangana is among the fastest urbanising states, with nearly one-third of its population residing in and around Hyderabad, which he described as a major hub for pharmaceuticals and information technology.
Rao also highlighted Hyderabad’s emergence as a centre for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), startups—particularly in the defence sector—along with strong presence in education, healthcare and fintech.
Emphasising the state’s investment potential, he cited factors such as skilled manpower, favourable climate, cultural heritage and infrastructure as key strengths.
He said Telangana aims to transform into a $3 trillion economy by 2047 and assured the delegation of full support from the state government in facilitating investments.
Director of Industries Nikhil Chakravarthy and representatives including Malachy Brian Nugent, R. Deepak Joshi and Divdrisht Singh from the forum were present.
