India’s grassroots innovations win global acclaim at IPITEX 2026

Bengaluru, Jan 12 (UNI) India's grassroots innovation ecosystem earned global recognition at IPITEX 2026 (Thailand Inventors’ Day Exhibition) in Bangkok, where rural innovations supported by Million Mutinies Bengaluru and Palle Srujana drew international acclaim.
Million Mutinies Bengaluru, an innovation ecosystem enabler committed to empowering entrepreneurs across sectors, marked a significant milestone at the exhibition held from January 5 to 9. Guided by its vision of enabling one million entrepreneurs across India, the organisation facilitated the global showcasing of grassroots innovations rooted in rural ingenuity and indigenous knowledge systems.
In collaboration with Palle Srujana and IFIA Bharat, and with support from Rotary Bengaluru Disha – District 3192, three grassroots innovators from Andhra Pradesh represented India at the global platform. Their community-driven technologies addressed critical challenges in agriculture, water management, environment and rural livelihoods, attracting attention from international inventor bodies and delegates.
The innovations showcased included a herbal weedicide and nematicide developed by Galla Chandrasekhar, a hydrolift for streams and rivulets by Pampana Srinivasu, and a mobile aerator for aqua farms by Tirumalasetty Srinivasa Rao. The solutions highlighted the potential of frugal engineering and indigenous wisdom to deliver affordable, scalable and high-impact technologies for real-world problems.
At IPITEX 2026, the innovators received special recognitions from eminent members of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA).
Pampana Srinivasu was honoured by Ronald P Pagsanghan, President of the Filipino Inventors Society, and Ayrat Giniyatullin of the All Russian Society of Inventors and Rationalizers for his hydrolift innovation.
Tirumalasetty Srinivasa Rao received an award from Corneliu Birtok-Baneasa of the Romanian Inventors Forum for his mobile aerator for aqua farms, while Galla Chandrasekhar was similarly recognised by Corneliu Birtok-Baneasa for his herbal weedicide and nematicide.
Brigadier Pogula Ganesham (Retd), Founder President of Palle Srujana, said that for over two decades the organisation has worked to bring the creativity of rural innovators to the forefront. He said IPITEX 2026 reaffirmed that solutions emerging from villages can stand shoulder to shoulder with the best innovations globally, adding that the recognition belonged not just to the innovators but to every rural community that believes in solving its own problems.
Sajnay Koppikar of Million Mutinies Bengaluru said the organisation’s mission is to build pathways for innovators to move from local impact to global relevance. He noted that supporting grassroots innovators at IPITEX 2026 aligned with the goal of enabling one million entrepreneurs across India and demonstrated how inclusive innovation ecosystems can unlock extraordinary value from the grassroots.
