Telangana: Singareni sets target of 2.25 Lakh tonnes Daily coal production to achieve target in FY

Hyderabad, Oct 1 (UNI) In order to achieve the coal production targets set for this financial year, Singareni Chairman and Managing Director N. Balram today directed that 2.25 lakh tonnes of coal must be produced and transported every day, and 14 lakh cubic meters of overburden (OB) must be removed daily.
In a video conference from the Singareni headquarters at Kothagudem, Balram conducted a special review meeting with all the Area General Managers.
He stated that due to heavy rains during the last few months- first six months of this financial year, only 91 per cent of the production target and 93 percent of the transport target were achieved.
He emphasized that in the coming six months, special focus must be placed on production.
To compensate for the losses caused by the rains, the production targets have now been revised upwards, he said that during the last two months, several key decisions were taken that will support the survival and bright future of Singareni.
Importantly, the company has now entered into the field of critical mineral exploration, he said approval has also been received from the government to participate in the auction of coal blocks and other minerals.
At the same time, he expressed gratitude to the government for allotting 10 acres of land in the Future City for the construction of Singareni’s International Office.
As Singareni is moving towards multi-faceted expansion, he stressed that all employees must have a clear understanding of the company’s financial position and expansion plans.
He urged that every employee should strive to further improve work culture and that, for the company’s survival, each employee must work for a full 8 hours in every shift.
He underlined that efficient utilization of human resources is essential for Singareni to emerge as an international player.
He emphasized the need to produce safe and quality coal, pointing out that only by increasing production and productivity can the coal sector ensure its survival.
He also mentioned that, going forward, review meetings will be held area-wise with the respective officials.
The meeting was attended by Directors L.V. Suryanarayana, Sri K. Venkateswarlu, Gautham Potru, Tirumala Rao, and from Hyderabad, Executive Director (Coal Movement) B. Venkanna, GM (Coordination & Marketing) T. Srinivas, along with all Area GMs and Corporate GMs.
