Sensex falls over 100 points

Mumbai, Oct 30 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Wednesday slipped 174 points at 80,174 in the opening session as selling was seen in financial services, healthcare, and consumer durable stocks.
The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange ( NSE) eased 24.20 points at 24,442.65.
Gaining over 300 points on Tuesday, the equity market went in red in early trade. As the NSE registered days high and low at 24,444.25 and 24,337.60 points respectively.
The Sensex registered intraday highs at 80,284.81 and 79,981.96 points.
The Midcap rose 0.44 pc and the smallcap rose 1.49 pc.
In 30 scrips, 15 advanced while 15 declined.
The losers were ICICI Bank by 1.63 pc to Rs 1310.70, Sun Pharma by 0.96 pc to Rs 1852.70, Bajaj Finserv by 0.95 pc to Rs 1751.05, Infosys by 0.94 pc to Rs 1821.55, and HCL Technology by 0.89 pc to Rs 1855.60.
The gainers were Adani Ports by 2.49 pc to Rs 1408, IndusInd Bank by 1.84 pc to Rs 1057.40, Maruti Suzuki by 1.78 pc to Rs 11, 244.40 and Powergrid by 1.19 pc to Rs 324.45.
