Sensex bounces back 341.04 pts

Mumbai, Mar 17 (UNI) Snapping a negative trend of the last two sessions,

the BSE Sensex on Monday jumped 341.04 pts to close at 74,169.95 on the strength of Health Care, Metal, Auto, and Financial services stocks amid positive Asian Cues.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 111.55 pts at 22,508.75.

The Sensex opened steady at 73,830.03, rising 2 points. During the day, it rallied 548 pts at 74,376.35, a day high, before closing at 74,169.95, up 341.04 pts from its previous close.

The Nifty registered a day high at 22,577.00 and low at 22,353.15 pts.

The stocks that pulled the market today were Health Care by 1.12 pc followed by Metal by 0.91 pc, Auto by 0.80 pc, and Financial Services by 0.83 pc.

The Mid-cap rose by 0.77 and the Small cap fell by 0.02 pc.

In 30 scrips, 20 advanced while 10. declined.

The gainers were Bajaj Finserv by 3.77 pc to Rs 1875, M & M by 2.41 pc to Rs 2707, and Axis Bank by 2.31 pc to Rs 1033.50,

The losers were ITC by 1.03 pc to Rs 407.60, Nestle India Ltd by 0.76 pc to Rs 2175.30, SBI by 0.54 pc to Rs 723.80, and Reliance Industries by 0.43 pc to Rs 1242.
