Sensex falls 210.45 pts

Mumbai, Jun 28 (UNI) Snapping a gaining streak in the last five sessions, the BSE Sensex on Friday fell 210.45 pts to settle at 79,032.73 on profit booking by local operators.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) eased 33.90 pts to 24,010.60.

A seesaw trend was seen during the session, as the Sensex opened higher at 79457.58, up 214 pts. It further gained 428 pts at 79,671.58, day high.In late trade it slipped 338 pts at 78,905.89, day low before closing at 79032.73, sliding 210.45 pts from its previous close.

The NSE registered days high and low at 24,174 and 23,985.80 pts respectively.

In 30 scrips, 10 advanced while 20 declined.

The Mid-cap rose by 0.41 pc and Small-cap by 0.56 pc.

The losers were IndusInd Bank by 2.61 pc to Rs 1463.80, Axis Bank by 2.05 pc to Rs 1262.45, Bharti Airtel by 1.80 pc to Rs 1445.35 and ICICI Bank by 1.60 pc to Rs 1199.80.

The gainers were Reliance Industries by 2.31 pc to Rs 3131.85, Tata Motors by 1.80 pc to Rs 990.10, Asian Paints by 1.31 pc to Rs 2920, and Nestle India Ltd by 0.98 pc to Rs 2557.40.
