17th Poultry India Expo in Hyderabad from Nov 26 onwards

Hyderabad, Nov 5 (UNI) The 17th edition of Poultry India Expo, South Asia’s largest poultry exhibition, will be held at Hitex Exhibition Centre, Madhapur, from November 26 to 28. The event will see the participation of more than 500 exhibitors from more than 50 countries while 45,000 visitors are expected to attend it.
The event is being organised by the Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA), with a Poultry Knowledge Day scheduled for November 25 at HICC Novotel.
Announcing the details at a press conference here on Wednesday, IPEMA President Uday Singh Bayas said this year’s edition will be “the biggest and most comprehensive yet,” showcasing innovations in breeding, hatchery automation, feed milling, housing, and egg farming solutions.
“Last year, we had 42,000 visitors. This year, we expect more than 45,000 participants from across 50 countries. Poultry India has become a single national platform - one nation, one expo - for everyone connected with the poultry ecosystem,” Bayas said.
He emphasised that the poultry industry continues to grow at 7-8 per cent annually, contributing significantly to rural employment and nutrition. “We aim to deliver the best quality products at affordable prices so that sustainability is maintained for the farmers and by the farmers,” he added.
The three-day event, spread across 35,000 square metres with seven halls at Hitex, will feature 40 national and 20 international poultry associations, 16 global poultry magazines, and 18 Indian publications. Over 200 traffic marshals will be deployed to ensure smooth conduct of the mega event.
The Poultry Knowledge Day on November 25 will feature seven eminent speakers addressing topics such as disease management, sustainability, and emerging challenges in the poultry sector.
The expo also focuses on policy advocacy and education, with IPEMA supporting research initiatives, veterinary education, and policy discussions on animal husbandry and export growth. “Poultry India is not just an expo - it’s a movement contributing to the nation’s health, economy, and rural empowerment,” Bayas said.
Chitturi Suresh Rayudu, Managing Director of Srinivasa Farms, said India’s poultry industry, currently valued at about Rs 4 lakh crore, is poised to grow fivefold in the next two decades, generating millions of rural jobs. “Every additional egg consumed creates nearly 25,000 rural jobs. Poultry has been and will continue to be a transformational force in rural India,” he said.
KG Anand, General Manager of Venkateshwara Hatcheries Limited., highlighted the industry’s vital role in combating malnutrition and promoting health. “Eggs and chicken are the best sources of affordable protein. Even during COVID-19, doctors recommended them for immunity. Despite being the world’s second-largest egg producer, India’s per capita consumption is still only around 100 eggs a year, against the recommended 180. This gap shows the immense potential for growth,” he noted.
Key associations supporting the event include the National Egg and Chicken Promotion Council (NECPC), Telangana Poultry Federation (TPF), Indian Poultry Journalists Association (IPJA), and poultry associations from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and other states.
