MERI kicks off Batch-2024 with grand orientation ceremony

New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) Management Education and Research Institute (MERI) marked the beginning of an exciting new academic year for over 350 students with a grand orientation ceremony titled “ABHISANSKARAN - 2024” here on Wednesday.

The ceremony was inaugurated by the Honourable Vice President, Professor Lalit Aggarwal, who welcomed the esteemed dignitaries and invited guests. "Innovation, performance, and motivation are key to your success," Professor Aggarwal emphasised, highlighting how MERI nurtures talent in a supportive environment with guidance from skilled faculty members.

The event featured an opening dance performance by a student, organised by Stuti Mam. Professor Aggarwal also praised MERI's Start-Up Hub, stating, "Our commitment to fostering innovation and technology is reflected in our Start-Up Hub, which provides essential resources and support for turning innovative ideas into successful ventures."

Prominent entrepreneur Mr. Luv Aggarwal spoke about the Start-Up Hub's role in encouraging students' enterprising spirit. "Staying ahead in technology is crucial, and our Start-Up Hub facilitates this by helping students transform creative concepts into reality," he said.

Esteemed guest Dr. Ashok Agarwal stressed that "education is a process of change and transformation," advising students to be active, disciplined, and hardworking, and to maintain a clear plan for success.

Media professional Mr. Asim Misra discussed the significance of mass media and the importance of understanding the background of every story covered. He explored various job opportunities in the media field, including social media, digital media, media research, and management, encouraging students to delve into these areas.

Dr. Rakesh Khurana, an advisor at MERI, highlighted the institute's focus on inclusive development. "MERI provides a platform for students to enhance their skills at every level, with an emphasis on overall development," he said.

Alumni Ankit Ravindra Jain, a corporate trainer, conducted an interactive session, using the story of the Pandavas and Dronacharya to stress the importance of consistency. Mr. Adarsh Rai, a career and emotional intelligence coach, discussed the future scope of various courses, the role of technology, and the significance of networking skills and curiosity for success.

Dr. Gurpreet Chabbra led an ice-breaking session that allowed students to connect with each other, while Prof. Dr. Deepshika Kalra, Dean of MERI, introduced the faculty and delivered the vote of thanks.

The ceremony set an inspiring tone for the academic year ahead, preparing students for their journey at MERI.
