New Delhi, April 7 (UNI) Blue Star Limited has launched a comprehensive new range of unitary cooling products, including 125 models of room air conditioners, as it aims to capitalise on the rapidly expanding cooling demand across India, a company statement said here on Tuesday.
The new lineup for Summer 2026 spans inverter, fixed-speed, and window ACs across multiple price points, catering to both residential and commercial segments. All models comply with the latest energy efficiency norms set by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, reinforcing the company's focus on sustainability and high-performance cooling solutions.
A key highlight of the launch is the premium 'Iconia' range, designed for discerning consumers, along with specialised categories such as super energy-efficient ACs, heavy-duty ACs, hot and cold ACs, and models equipped with anti-virus technology.
The company said its super energy-efficient models deliver significantly higher performance, while heavy-duty variants are engineered to operate in extreme temperatures of up to 56 degree celsius.
The move comes at a time when India's room air conditioner market is witnessing strong structural growth, driven by rising incomes, rapid urbanisation, and increasing climate intensity.
Industry estimates indicate that the market could grow from around 14 million units currently to nearly 30 million units by FY30, with smaller cities emerging as key growth drivers.
To support this demand, Blue Star has strengthened its manufacturing capabilities, with a current production capacity of 1.4 million units, scalable to 1.8 million units.
Its facilities in Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh are equipped with advanced automation and IoT-enabled systems to enhance efficiency and quality.
The company is also expanding its footprint through a wide distribution network spanning over 900 towns and 10,000 retail outlets, backed by a strong after-sales service ecosystem.
In addition to room ACs, Blue Star highlighted its broad commercial refrigeration portfolio, catering to sectors such as food retail, healthcare, hospitality and pharmaceuticals.
The segment is witnessing strong momentum due to the growth of quick commerce, rising demand for cold storage, and increasing consumption of fresh and frozen foods.
Commenting on the outlook, B Thiagarajan, Managing Director of Blue Star Limited, said India's cooling demand is at an inflection point, with nearly 150 million households expected to afford air conditioners in the future.
He added that the company's expanded product portfolio positions it strongly to capture opportunities across both residential and commercial segments.
With continued investments in R&D, energy-efficient technologies, and eco-friendly solutions, Blue Star is aiming to strengthen its leadership in India's fast-evolving cooling market while aligning with sustainability goals. UNI SAS
