India, Algeria agree to expand defence cooperation at inaugural Joint Commission meet

New Delhi, May 6 (UNI): India and Algeria have agreed to deepen bilateral defence ties, with both sides deciding to expand cooperation in key areas including military training, joint exercises, medical collaboration and defence industry partnerships during the inaugural Joint Commission meeting held in the national capital.

Congress signals openness to back Vijay’s TVK in Tamil Nadu‎

‎New Delhi, May 5 (UNI) The Congress on Tuesday indicated that it is considering extending support to actor-turned-politician Vijay and his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), to form a government in Tamil Nadu, with the final decision to be taken by the party state unit. ‎
In a post on X, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said Vijay had formally approached the party seeking its backing to form the government.
