Newlywed woman's mutilated body found in UP's Kaushambi river canal, family alleges foul play

Kaushambi, Oct 11 (UNI) The mutilated body of a 20-year-old newlywed woman was discovered in a canal connected to the Khaderi River in the Ganja village of the Airport area today, police sources said.
The woman, Ravita, had gone missing five days earlier after visiting a local fair in Jhalwa, Prayagraj, with her husband.
According to police sources, Ravita had married Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Pipalgav Fatehpur village, in a court marriage on September 7, just a month before her death. The marriage, however, was reportedly not welcomed by Rakesh’s family.
