NESO seeks intervention of Union Education Minister to resolve crisis in NEHU

Shillong, Nov 12 (UNI) The North-Eastern Students’ Organisation (NESO), an apex body of eight students’ associations of seven northeastern states, on Tuesday sought immediate intervention of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resolve the crisis in the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Meghalaya
The NEHU Students Union (NEHUSU) and Khasi Students Union (KSU-NEHU Unit) are on an indefinite hunger strike from November 5 demanding the resignation of NEHU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prabha Shankar Shukla for his alleged failure to run the central university.
The Union also demanded the immediate dismissal of VC Prof. P. S. Shukla, Registrar Col. Omkar Singh, Deputy Registrar Amit Gupta, and other incompetent staff members who have allegedly contributed to the university’s decline.
