Nepali folk band Nepathya to perform in Siliguri on Feb 28

Siliguri, Feb 19 (UNI) In a major cultural event for the Nepali-speaking community in eastern India, legendary Nepali folk-rock band Nepathya is set to perform in Siliguri for the first time on February 28.
Darjeeling MP Raju Bista formally unveiled the official event T-shirt and merchandise for “Nepathya Live in Siliguri” and confirmed his presence as the Chief Guest.
Organisers expect thousands of attendees from across North Bengal, the Northeast, Bhutan and Nepal, positioning the concert as a significant cross-border cultural gathering.
Widely regarded as Nepal’s most influential folk-rock band, Nepathya has built a strong following over the decades by blending traditional Nepali musical elements with contemporary themes and social messages. The band has performed at major international venues and continues to attract multigenerational audiences.
The event is being presented by PVE Network in association with Club Gravity. PVE Network, an emerging live entertainment promoter, has recently organised large-format Nepali-language concerts in Siliguri and Gangtok, contributing to the growing prominence of the region’s cultural landscape.
The organisers said the upcoming performance is expected to strengthen Siliguri’s position as an emerging hub for international and cross-border cultural events, given its strategic location as a gateway to India’s Northeast, Nepal and Bhutan.
Bikesh Kayastha, Founding Director of PVE Network, said the response to the announcement has been encouraging.
“Ticket sales have shown strong momentum, reflecting both nostalgia and the band’s enduring relevance. For many, this concert will mark not just Nepathya’s debut in Siliguri, but a milestone in the city’s cultural journey,” he said. UNI MBN NST
