Neeraj to compete in Poland after Bengaluru postponement

Chorzow (Poland), May 14 (UNI) The postponement of the NC Classic in Bengaluru has cleared the way for India’s javelin throw star and two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra to compete in the 71st edition of the Janusz Kusociński Memorial athletics meet here on May 23.
Part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver series, the prestigious meet will feature Neeraj in a high-profile field that includes Paris 2024 bronze medallist and two-time World Champion Anderson Peters of Grenada and Germany’s former European Champion Julian Weber. Several leading Polish throwers are also expected to participate.
Neeraj was earlier slated to compete at the Bengaluru meet on May 24, but following its postponement, the 27-year-old Indian ace confirmed his participation in the Polish event — one of Europe’s oldest athletics competitions, held annually since 1954.
