SAREX-2026: ICG conducts mass rescue drill off Paradip with 30 countries participating

New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) The Indian Coast Guard on Thursday conducted the 12th National Maritime Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX-2026) off the Paradip coast in Odisha, demonstrating India's preparedness to mount coordinated mass rescue operations during complex maritime and aeronautical emergencies. Conducted under the aegis of the National Maritime Search and Rescue Board (NMSARB), the exercise was held under the theme "Leveraging Technology to Strengthen SAR Preparedness and Maritime Safety" and sought to enhance operational readiness, interoperability and coordination among various maritime and aeronautical agencies.
