Education Ministry approves five Centres of Excellence for Classical Languages

New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) The union Education Ministry has approved the establishment of five Centres of Excellence (CoEs) dedicated to the study of Classical languages - Assamese, Bengali, Marathi, Pali and Prakrit - aimed at strengthening research, preservation and wider dissemination of India's linguistic and literary heritage. The Department of Higher Education has selected five higher educational institutions across the country to host the Centres, which will provide dedicated institutional support for advanced academic research, documentation, digitisation and scholarly engagement in the respective Classical Languages.
