New Delhi, Oct 14 (UNI) Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has called for a 'Lehra Do Tiranga' gathering at Central Park in Connaught Place on October 16, following the remand of party leaders Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das to five days of judicial custody in connection with an alleged incident involving the national flag at Jantar Mantar.
The gathering has been scheduled for 5 pm on Friday, October 16. The announcement through his post on X comes amid the ongoing controversy surrounding protests at Jantar Mantar and the detention of CJP leaders. Ranka and Das were sent to judicial custody for five days over allegations that they waved the Tricolour at Jantar Mantar. Further details about the charges invoked against them and the circumstances of their remand were not immediately available.
The proposed gathering is expected to bring the party's campaign back into focus, with Dipke announcing a fresh mobilisation under the slogan 'Lehra Do Tiranga'. Delhi Police detained CJP leaders Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and Ajinkya Shinde on October 13 after they allegedly entered Jantar Mantar, which had been denotified as an officially designated protest site.
Police cited allegations including trespass, violation of prohibitory orders, breach of peace bonds and obstruction of public servants. Das and Ranka were remanded to five days of judicial custody on October 14, while Shinde was released on a personal bond.
