Cabinet clears ITLA to overhaul India's transport planning with data-driven multimodal strategy

New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) The union Cabinet on Tuesday approved the setting up of the Integrated Transport & Logistics Authority (ITLA), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) that will serve as a national institutional framework for integrated transport and logistics planning, project appraisal, monitoring, research and data-driven policymaking. Announcing the decision after the Cabinet meeting, union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw said the new authority would strengthen research, planning, project appraisal, monitoring and impact assessment across the broad domains of transportation and logistics.
