Centre proposes mandatory CCTV at drug supply premises, three-month storage of footage

New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) The Centre has proposed mandatory CCTV surveillance at licensed premises supplying drugs other than against prescriptions, with recordings to be preserved for at least three months. Under draft amendments to the Drugs Rules, 1945, such premises will have to install and maintain CCTV systems in a manner that enables verification of drug sales. The proposed provision has been inserted as sub-rule (2A) in Rule 65, which deals with conditions governing the sale and supply of drugs.
