Nathwani, Baidyanath Ram elected to Rajya Sabha from Jharkhand

Ranchi, Jun 18 (UNI) NDA-backed Independent candidate Parimal Nathwani and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) nominee, Baidyanath Ram, were elected to the Rajya Sabha from Jharkhand today, while Congress candidate Pranav Jha failed to secure a berth in the Upper House.
The election was held for two Rajya Sabha seats from the state, with all 81 members of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly exercising their franchise.
According to the results announced after counting, Baidyanath Ram secured 30 valid votes and Nathwani polled 28. Congress nominee Pranav Jha received 20 votes. Three ballots were declared invalid.
