Nashik to get 50 EV buses soon; tender issued for support services

Nashik, Feb 14 (UNI) Under the Central Government’s PM E-Bus Service Scheme, the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) will receive 100 electric buses in two phases, with 50 buses set to arrive during the first phase soon. The civic body’s engineering department is preparing to sign an agreement with the concerned company for the rollout.
In anticipation of the arrival of the first batch of 50 electric buses, the Nashik Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal has floated a tender to appoint a carrier supplier. The city bus service will require around 125 carriers.
To curb air pollution in major cities, the Central Government has approved 10,000 electric buses under the PM E-Bus Service Scheme on a public-private partnership model. Of these, 100 buses have been sanctioned for Nashik. The buses will be deployed in two phases, with 50 to be introduced shortly.
