Nandhidhaa maintains her lead with 8.5 points at end of 9th round in National Women Chess

Durgapur, Dec 11 (UNI) Tamil Nadu's P. V. Nandhidhaa maintained her lead with 8.5 points as crushed past easily against her rival at the end of 9th round in the 51st National Women’s Chess Championship being held here Sidhu Kanhu Stadium here on Thursday.
At the end of the day favourites Nandhidaa from Tamil Nadu maintained her lead with 8.5 points against upcoming Arshiya Das of Tripura in 60 moves.
Nandhidhaa was closely followed by WFM Shubhi Gupta from UP with 8 points. WGM Mary Ann Gomes from PSPB is in 3rd position with 7.5 points. On the second board, WFM Shubhi Gupta from UP showed her class to outplay Shivamshika G from Telangana in an exciting match.

Riyadh, Jan. 24 (UNI) The 2029 Asian Winter Games in Saudi Arabia have been postponed, the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) announced on Saturday.
In a joint statement, the two organizations said they had agreed on "an updated framework for future hosting" following extensive consultations. No new date was announced, with a revised timeline to be confirmed later.
