Nagpur violence: Situation under control;  curfew in several areas

Nagpur Mar 18 (UNI) The situation is under control, and a curfew is imposed in several parts of Nagpur, while no fresh incident of violence was reported after it broke out in the city on Monday following rumours that a holy book had been desecrated during a demonstration seeking the removal of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s tomb in Khuldabad, sources said here on Tuesday.
According to details, a curfew has been imposed in several parts of Nagpur after the violence broke out in the city on Monday.
While talking to media, person Ravinder Singhal, police commissioner, Nagpur, said that the situation is peaceful; however, police had imposed the restrictions on Monday night by invoking Section 163 (power to issue order in urgent cases of nuisance or apprehended danger) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
