Nagaland: Accommodation providers asked to report arrival of foreigners within 24 hours

Dimapur, Feb 9 (UNI) The Dimapur police commissionerate on Monday directed accommodation providers, including hotels, homestays, hospitals, educational institutions and others, to report the arrival and stay of foreigners within 24 hours.
Dimapur commissioner of police-cum-foreigners registration officer Aotula T Imchen, in a notification, warned that penal action will be initiated if any accommodation provider fails to comply under the new Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025. It also said any failure, delay, or inaccurate reporting will invite penal action under the law.
The notification said the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, along with the Immigration and Foreigners Rules, 2025, came into force with effect from September 1, 2025, replacing four earlier laws governing the entry, stay and registration of foreigners in India.
