Muslims condemn Waqf Board order on century-old Mumbai Minara Masjid

Mumbai, Feb 18 (UNI) Days after the Maharashtra Board of Waqf approved the appointment of a new board of trustees to take over the management of century-old Minara Masjid, one of the most important mosques in the city, the Muslim community and political parties, including Samajwadi Party, have condemned the decision.
The iconic Minara Masjid at Mohammed Ali Road is a prominent landmark of the financial capital of the country.
The community as well as political outfits have slammed Junaid Sayed, the chief executive officer of the Waqf Board, for his unlawful and arbitrary step which can be template to involve other mosques in similar controversies.
