Murthy refusal due to 'misinformation' on state survey: Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru, Oct 17 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today suggested that “misinformation” may be behind the alleged refusal of Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy and Infosys Chairman Narayana Murthy to provide information for the state’s socio-educational survey, ahead of the central government’s upcoming caste census.
“The central government will also conduct a caste census in the coming days. Will they still not cooperate? They may be showing such disobedience due to the misinformation they have,” Siddaramaiah said.
The Chief Minister’s statement follows revelations from T V Mohandas Pai, former CFO and board member at Infosys, who also opted out. Pai claimed: “The motive behind the survey is quite different. The entire purpose of the caste survey seems to be to divide people and to portray a decline in the population of Vokkaligas and Lingayats.”
