Mumbai to become India’s 1st international education hub with global uiversities: Maha CM

Mumbai, June 14 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Saturday a landmark initiative to transform Mumbai and Navi Mumbai into India’s first international education hub, bringing world-class foreign universities to Indian soil.
At the ‘Mumbai Rising: Creating an International Education City’ event held at the Taj Hotel, Letters of Intent (LoIs) were signed with five renowned global universities under the National Education Policy (NEP), signalling a new era for higher education in the state.
Addressing the gathering, which included Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, State Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, UGC Chairman Vinit Joshi, and representatives from the UK, Australia, the USA, and Italy, Fadnavis emphasised that Indian students will no longer need to travel abroad to access top-tier education.
