Mumbai gynaecologist gets her vision back after a unique surgery at Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital

Chennai, Feb 18 (UNI) A 44-year-old Mumbai-based gynaecologist who had completely lost her eyesight 10 years ago, has apparently regained her vision at Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital following a complex surgery.
The gynaecologist had lost her vision due to severe glaucoma and multiple refractory intraocular pathologies, none of which had responded to the several surgeries she had previously undergone, the hospital stated in a release on Wednesday.
In a complex, probably the first-of-its-kind surgical intervention globally, the surgical team at Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital performed the advanced 5F-ISHF IOL implantation technique on the patient to remove a malpositioned artificial intraocular lens (IOL) in her left eye. This was carried out along with optical penetrating keratoplasty (OPK), the novel 5F scleral fixation technique and pupilloplasty in a single sitting to address her complex ocular complications.

Maha: ACB officials nab three for accepting bribe
