MPs demand 50 pc reservation for BCs

New Delhi, Dec 10 (UNI) Twelve Members of Parliament from various political parties on Wednesday called for intensifying the movement to secure 50 per cent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in all elected bodies.
Taking part in a national seminar on BC Rights at Telangana Bhavan in the national capital, they passed several unanimous resolutions, including a demand for a BC Reservation Bill to mandate 50 per cent representation in Parliament and state assemblies, creation of a separate BC Ministry with a Rs 2 lakh crore special development fund and raising BC reservations from 25 per cent to 50 per cent in education and employment.
The resolutions also sought reservations in promotions, removal of the creamy layer, and 50 per cent BC quota in industrial and entrepreneurship policies.
