MPDO, MPO and private individual caught by ACB in Rs one lakh bribery case

Mahabubabad, June 12 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Warangal Range, on Friday caught an MPDO, an MPO and a private individual red-handed while allegedly accepting bribes in Mahabubabad district.
According to the ACB statement, Ms Penugonda Radhika, MPDO of Narsimhulapet Mandal, K. Yakaiah, MPO, and C Nagarjuna, a private individual who is also the son of the MPDO, were caught while demanding and accepting bribes of Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively from a complainant for extending an official favour related to layout development permissions.
The accused allegedly sought the bribe for issuing instructions to the Panchayat Secretary of Padamatigudem village to mortgage 15.75 per cent of the complainant's land to the Gram Panchayat as security for layout development works. The MPDO allegedly accepted the bribe through her son, Nagarjuna, who was functioning as her personal assistant and driver.
