Ms Sreemathy demanded that the government provide compensation funds from disaster management fund, while considering this explosion like a natural calamity before keeping in touch with the Election Commission. She also alleged that the well in nearby houses are contaminated due to explosion, hence the district administration should examine the waters and do the needful to clean the toxic water, owing to foul odour emanating from gunpowder. Talking to news persons here, Ms Sreemathy said the government and district administration are not interested in exposing the explosion issue even one week after the incident occurred. No ministers or responsible persons bothered to visitthe incident spot or houses, she alleged, adding, the district administration neither functioned as crisis management, nor did not take steps to rehabilitate the families of partially-damaged five houses .The people residing in colony after theblast were in panic, and counselling is the need of the hour, she reasoned. Please log in to get detailed story.Tags: #MP demands compensation to families of victims in explosion
