Molineux progress ‘on track’ for Women’s T20WC 2026

Sydney, April 8 (UNI) Sophie Molineux’s appointment as Australia's new captain earlier this year was made with the focus on upcoming international assignments, especially the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 and the following year’s ICC Women’s Champions Trophy.
However, Molineux, who has had a history of ACL and foot injury, developed a stress reaction to the back during India’s tour of Australia, which limited her participation in the subsequent tour of the West Indies, where the player featured as a batter.
Cricket Australia’s Head of Performance (Women’s Cricket) and National Selector, Shawn Flegler, spoke about how they dealt with Molineux’s injury during the West Indies tour.
