MNF stakes its claim to form SHC government

Aizawl, Nov 8 (UNI) Mizo National Front (MNF) which won seven seats in the recent election to the 12-member Shinlung Hills council on Friday staked its claim to form the next SHC government.
MNF in a letter to the Aizawl district Deputy Commissioner on Friday staked its claim to form the government.
The MNF emerged as the largest party in the recent election for the 12-member council, held on November 5, securing 7 seats with the help of its pre-poll ally, the Hmar Peopleﾒs Convention (Reformed), which won 2 seats. Together, the MNF-led coalition holds a majority over the Zoram Peopleﾒs Movement (ZPM), which won 4 seats, and the Congress, which secured 1 seat.
