Mizoram unites in grief, anger over killing of pastors in Manipur ambush

Aizawl, May 14 (UNI) Strong condemnation poured in from across Mizoram on Thursday following the killing of Baptist Church leaders in violence-hit Manipur, with church organisations, civil society groups and political parties describing the attack as barbaric and demanding justice for the victims.
The killing of three pastors in an alleged militant ambush in Kangpokpi district on Wednesday has sparked widespread shock and sorrow in the Christian-majority state, where several organisations voiced concern over the continuing violence in the neighbouring state.
Leading the chorus of condemnation was the Council of Churches in Mizoram (CCM), a conglomerate of nine major church denominations in the state. In a statement issued on Thursday, the church body said it was deeply saddened by the attack on religious leaders travelling between Kotzim and Kotlen villages in Manipur.
