Mizoram minister calls for rewriting Eastern Himalayan highlanders history beyond colonial biases

Aizawl, Dec 9 (UNI) Mizoram Art and Culture Minister C. Lalsawivunga has urged scholars to “rethink borders, question colonial archives, and restore the voices of highland communities” as
he delivered a thought-provoking address at the opening of a three-day international seminar at Mizoram University.
In a wide-ranging speech, Lalsawivunga said the histories of highland societies across Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Myanmar and neighbouring Himalayan regions had long been “written not by the people themselves, but by outsiders whose brief encounters created distortions that still colour our understanding today.”

Indian Army conducts high-altitude avalanche rescue drills in Tawang

Indian Army establishes first IUI Centre in Arunachal

Itanagar, Jan 14 (UNI) In a significant boost to healthcare services in Arunachal Pradesh, the Indian Army has established the state’s first-ever state-of-the-art Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) Centre at Tenga in West Kameng district. The facility has been set up by the Kameng Healers of the Ball of Fire Division under the aegis of Gajraj Corps.

Statewide earthquake Mock Drill to test Mizoram’s disaster preparedness on Jan 15
