MIT-ADT University Organises Plantation Drive under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign

Pune, June 5 (UNI) Marking World Environment Day, students and faculty of the MIT Art, Design and Technology (MIT-ADT) University planted more than 300 trees under the Government of India’s national campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.
The initiative was jointly organised by the University’s Office of Student Welfare and the Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education and Training (MANET).
Around 300 MANET cadets enthusiastically participated in the plantation activity. Various species, including Kanchan, Bahava (Golden Shower), Gulmohar and Palm trees, were planted across the university campus.

Mumbai, July 16 ( UNI) The Bombay High Court has expressed strong displeasure over the growing problem of littering and spitting in public places across Mumbai, referring to the tendency to spit in the open as a "national hobby."
The court directed Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Ashwini Bhide to fix responsibility on ward officials for garbage being dumped on roads, footpaths, and other public spaces, and to ensure stricter penal action against violators.
