Miscreants cut open ATM, loot Rs 35 lakh in Meghalaya

Shillong, Feb 8 (UNI) Four unidentified men allegedly looted over Rs. 35 lakh in cash from the State Bank of India (SBI) ATM by cutting open the machine in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district in the wee hours today, police said.
The incident happened at the SBI ATM in Mylliembah village under Mawngap Police Station at around 2:20 in the morning.
Before cutting open the machine, the miscreants sprayed black paint on the CCTV cameras to prevent identification. The miscreants cut open the machine using a gas cutter to steal the cash in seven minutes, which was around Rs 35.34 lakh.
