Michael C Hall returns as vigilante-serial killer Dexter in ‘Dexter: Resurrection’

Los Angeles, Apr 17 (UNI) Making his return as the sociopathic vigilante serial killer, actor Michael C. Hall is set to once again portray the anti-hero Dexter Morgan in the upcoming series, ‘Dexter Resurrection’.

Having first embarked on his killing spree with his ‘Dark Passenger’ in the iconic 2006 crime-thriller series ‘Dexter', the 54-year old’s return was unveiled in a sneak peek by Paramount + Showtime, with the show acting as a direct sequel to the 2021 series, ‘Dexter: New Blood’, according to Collider.

The show will be blending a lineup of new and old faces alike, with the debut photos showcasing the characters that the titular vigilante serial killer will cross paths with when the show arrives later this year.

This includes actor David Zayas returning as Detective Angel Batista – Dexter’s former friend and colleague at Miami Metro; James Ramar as Harry Morgan – Dexter’s stepfather and the representation of his ‘Dark Passenger’ from the original series; Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son, Harrison Morgan from ‘Dexter: New Blood’.

The show will also feature Oscar-nominated actress Uma Thurman as Charley, and Golden Globe -winning actor Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater. Additionally, the series will also feature Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace and Ntare Mwine as Blessing Kamara.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, the series picks up immediately after the events of the 2021 limited series ‘Dexter: New Blood’, where Dexter Morgan is revived after being shot by his son, Harrison.

The series follows Dexter “as he grapples with his actions and the potential consequences, including the return of his late adoptive father, Harry, and a possible new mission from an underground network".

Guest stars in this debut season include Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet and David Dastmalchian.

Original series showrunner Clyde Phillips (who also headed up Original Sin) is back as showrunner, with executive producers including Hall, Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns, with Marcos Siega serving as producing director. Monica Raymund is set to direct four episodes with Siega directing six episodes.

Producers have sought to undo the damage caused by the disastrous Season 8 which was heavily panned by fans with the sequel series ‘New Blood’, and prequel ‘Original Sin’. With both shows being highly successful, ‘Resurrection’ aims to capture lightning in a bottle again, bringing both nostalgia and new flavour. Production of the show is currently underway.
