MHA orders judicial probe headed by former SC judge into September 24 Leh violence

Srinagar, Oct 17 (UNI) The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) today announced a judicial inquiry into the September 24 violence in Leh, which left four people dead and several others injured after firing on protesters demanding statehood and Sixth Schedule status for Ladakh.

According to MHA, the inquiry will be conducted by Dr. Justice B. S. Chauhan, former judge of the Supreme Court of India, to ensure a free, fair, and impartial investigation into the incident.
