Mexico likely to levy upto 50 pc tariff on select product import from Asia: Report

New Delhi, Dec 11 (UNI) Mexico's Lower House of parliament has approved a sweeping tariff package of up to 50 per cent from the year 2026 on the import of select products from Asian countries, including India and China, to protect its indigenous industry and producers, local media reports.
This marks the Mexican government's most aggressive moves in recent years to bolster domestic industry and narrow its trade deficit.
The measure was passed in the Lower House on Wednesday with 281 votes in favour, 24 against and 149 abstentions, but still requires the approval of the Senate - the Upper House.

Delhi air quality remains ‘severe’ as fog, cold conditions persist

New Delhi, Jan 18 (UNI) Delhi continued to grapple with severe air pollution on Sunday, with the city’s overall Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 439 at 7 am, firmly in the ‘severe’ category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The situation had already worsened late Saturday night, when the AQI stood at 432 around 10 pm, before deteriorating further by Sunday morning.

CAQM invokes GRAP- IV measures as Delhi's AQI reaches severe zone
