Messi mania grips Mumbai as football icon enters Wankhede Stadium , fans create viral 'Aadhaar Card' poster for Lionel Messi

Mumbai, Dec 14 (UNI) Argentine football legend Lionel Messi was greeted by loud cheers as he arrived at the Wankhede Stadium here today during the ongoing GOAT India Tour 2025, with fans turning out in large numbers to welcome the global icon.
Supporters filled the stands well before the programme began, waving Argentina flags, wearing Messi’s iconic number 10 jersey, and chanting his name. Despite tight security arrangements at the venue, the atmosphere remained festive as spectators witnessed one of the most high-profile football events hosted in the city in recent years.
Messi’s visit also triggered several fan-driven moments on social media. One such instance that gained wide attention was a fan-made poster designed in the format of India’s Aadhaar identity card, dedicated to the footballer. The mock card listed his name as Lionel Andres Messi, his date of birth as June 24, 1987, and humorously described his gender as “G.O.A.T.” It also mentioned his father’s name as Jorge Messi and playfully cited an address in Shillong, Meghalaya, symbolically portraying him as one of their own.
